Cheddar…   Read all about it!

Cheese… cheese, cheese and cheese. Well, even non cheese lovers love cheddar! or Brie. …Then there’s cider too!… proper, honest to goodness, cider: shouldn’t it all be just this simple.

I think I’m quite excited about the Somerset visit!?

The Slow Food Somerset Group is… to confirm the events, but we’re certainly talking a cheese and cider trip at the very least… And what more could anyone need?!

Their principle aims are to;

1. Support producers of traditional regional foods and drinks

2. Educate ourselves and others about food production issues

3. Increase our knowledge and appreciation of “slow” food and drinks

through a combination of educational and promotional initiatives and events such as tastings, visits to producers and food fairs, cookery courses, demonstrations, talks and meals.

Somerset Food seem to have a pretty decent/informative site about local foods, plus some really interesting articles to read too.

Somerset Farmers’ Market

Somerset Local Food Direct… web-based food and drink home delivery service offering produce from more than 80 local producers.
